SPECTRAL services provided on Borderlands:

LiDAR scanning with texture photography
Large area aerial scanning with drone (also combined with LiDAR scanning)
Drone scanning for built outdoor sets and scenes

SPECTRAL collaborated closely with the art directors of Borderlands to create some truly out-of-this-world sets. Using our detailed scans, the team could easily and accurately add decorations and expand upon existing environments.

For this project, we had the opportunity to scan some of Hungary’s most intriguing mines and cellars. The Kőbánya cellar system, a well-known and beloved location for filmmakers, spans an estimated 180,000–220,000 square meters. We successfully scanned approximately 5% of this vast complex.

Similarly, the Tárnok quarry, another highly popular filming location, was fully scanned by our team in just two days. And no alien world would be complete without the dramatic landscapes of Polgárdi’s hills and quarries, which we managed to scan despite challenging weather conditions.
